Hola, my name is Margarita Gonzalez.  It is with great honor to say that I have been in Highland for a long time. I came to Highland School District when I was 11 years old as a Migrant Student.  My family liked the Highland area so we stayed. During my college education I started working for this district as a Bilingual Parapro in 1985. It took me 14 years to get my certification as a teacher.  I worked full time as a parapro and went to school in the evenings and weekends. I started with a Parapro certificate.

In 1999, I got my Teaching degree, and we were blessed with our first son. He came to us as a total blessing as for 14 years we could not have children. After Teaching in third grade for about five years we were blessed for the second time with another son. 

I love learning every day. My passion is to be helpful. It has been very rewarding teaching so many students and parents as well. For the longest time I held English classes and citizenship classes in my own classroom.  Many students have graduated and many parents became USA citizens. My persistence and determination continues to pay off my love for teaching. 

I will continue to bring my patience and understanding kindergarten, so my students can leave my classroom with something they did not have before. My dream is to have a direct impact on your child's education. I am going to need your help and work as a team for better student success.
