Welcome to 8th grade science! I am Ms. Horta, this is my first year teaching here at Highland Middle School. I am a Highland Alummi, Class of 2013. I grew up in this great community and I am a proud Mexican-American.I had the great opportunity to study biology at Central Washington University. While at CWU, I had the amazing opportunity to teach high school students about collecting population data at a local creek in Ellensburg. That is when I found my love for teaching. Once I graduated with my B.A in General Biology, I worked to get my masters in education through Grand Canyon University. I worked at MultiCare Yakima Valley Memorial for 2 years. I am excited to finally start my teaching journey here in this wonderful community that saw me grow into the person that I am today!
