Hi,

My name is Shelly Peterson, and I am the Life Skills teacher for the High School and Jr. High. I have been working in public education for many years as both a teacher and paraprofessional. I received my bachelors degree in K-12 Special Education and Elementary Education from Western Governors University of Washington.

I'm very excited about teaching in Highland and getting to know your students and you. I believe all students have value and my desire is to help them reach their full potential.

I have two grown children and two grandchildren. My son lives in Texas with his family, and my daughter lives in Yakima. I love spending time with my family, whether in town or in Texas.  I have two cats that live with me and one horse that lives with my daughter and her three horses, two goats, and three dogs. I love to garden (when I have time), go to bazaars, and binge watch home decorating shows.

I'm looking forward to an amazing year!

Mi nombre es Shelly Peterson, y soy la maestra de Habilidades para la Vida de la Escuela Secundaria y Jr. High. He estado trabajando en la educación pública durante muchos años como maestra y paraprofesional. Recibí mi licenciatura en Educación Especial K-12 y Educación Primaria de la Western Governors University de Washington.

Estoy muy emocionado de enseñar en Highland y conocer a sus estudiantes y a ustedes. Creo que todos los estudiantes tienen valor y mi deseo es ayudarlos a alcanzar su máximo potencial.

Tengo dos hijos adultos y dos nietos. Mi hijo vive en Texas y mi hija vive en Yakima. Me encanta pasar tiempo con mi familia, ya sea en la ciudad o en Texas. Tengo dos gatos que viven conmigo y un caballo que vive con mi hija y sus tres caballos, dos cabras y tres perros. Me encanta el jardín (cuando tengo tiempo), ir a bazares y ver atracones en casa espectáculos de decoración.
