• HHS Students meet with their SCOTS advisory once per week throughout high school.  Each grade level has their own activities and requirements which are outlined below.  Students that successfully complete their SCOTS requirements will earn  .25 credit per semester.  Students that are not enrolled in SCOTS are not required to complete the following requirements, with the exception of the High School & Beyond Plan which is a Washington State Graduation Requirement. 


    9th Grade SCOTS:

    • Begin High School & Beyond Plan
    • Collect Sample Work, Test Scores, Certificates & Awards for Portfolio

    10th Grade SCOTS:

    • Update High School & Beyond Plan
    • Complete personality & career interest tests
    • Complete Resume
    • Complete Job Applications & Letter of Application
    • Collect Sample Work, Test Scores, Certificates & Awards for Portfolio

    11th Grade SCOTS:

    • Update High School & Beyond Plan
    • Collect Sample Work, Test Scores, Certificates & Awards for Portfolio
    • Update Resume
    • Junior Career Exploration (Choose one pathway to explore):
      • Military Meet with a Recruiter
      • Research and write 1 page on the branch they want to join
      • Research and write 1 page on a military career
    • Technical Career
      • Enrollment in YVTECH or tour a Technical School
      • Research and write 1 page each for the training needed and job outlook for two different technical careers or programs
    • College
      • Visit a college campus
      • Take minimum courses needed for college entrance (Before graduation: 2 years World Language, 4 years of Math, Chemistry or Physics)
      • Complete 20 hours of Community Service
      • Complete the Personal Fact Sheet

    12th Grade SCOTS:

    • Update High School & Beyond Plan
    • Collect Sample Work, Test Scores, Certificates & Awards for Portfolio
    • Update Resume
    • Senior Exit Presentation
    • Post High School Planning (provide 2 pieces of evidence for your future plans)
      • Military Letter confirming ship out date or date at MEPS
      • Confirmation of Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
      • Pay Grade Level for chosen MOS
      • Length of Training for chosen MOS
    • Technical & College PathwayEvidence of applying or acceptance to College
      • Evidence of College Course placement scores
      • Evidence of plan to pay for school (FAFSA report, letter from parents, etc.)
      • Campus housing application
    • Joining the Workforce
      • Two completed Job Applications
      • Letter confirming employment
