K-8 Elementary Education

Ms. McKee

I am the 8th Grade ELA teacher at Highland Junior High along with an athletics coach and volunteer for Highland High School Track and Cross Country. I received my K-8 Elementary Education degree from the University of Montana Western in Dillon, MT and have a sincere affection for small and rural schools.

After receiving my degree, my travels led me to a variety of rural locations. In Montana, Idaho, Nevada and Washington, I served ELL students, taught physical education, and provided reading intervention while coaching High School Volleyball and High School Track and Field. My sentiment toward smaller districts originates from my personal experiences having received my public education in Omak, WA. My roots are dug in the fruit, hay and beef industries in our state and in my experiences within the western states.

I am sincerely honored to serve the students and families in the Highland community. I have found Highland and the 8th grade ELA classroom to be my home. I strive to build skill and passion within my content area every day in my classroom through rigorous coursework, cultural relevance, and engaging and meaningful ways to access Common Core State Standards.
