Superintendent's Message
Dear Highland Community,
This school year is off to a strong start, and we are focused on the work ahead. From facility improvements to academic achievements, Highland is committed to providing the best for our students.
We are in the final stages of completing the HVAC systems at Highland High School, an important part of our capital projects levy. Looking ahead, our next major project will focus on replacing the High School track and field. The current track surface has developed cracks, making a replacement necessary. With these improvements, we will once again be able to host track meets for our students and community. These upgrades will enhance both athletic opportunities and community use.
I am also thrilled to share outstanding academic news. State SBA scores are in, and Highland High School ranks at the top in English Language Arts across our area. An impressive 93.4% of our students demonstrated foundational grade-level knowledge and skills, and 80.2% showed college-level readiness in ELA. In addition, our High School Science scores are the highest in the valley and exceed state averages. These scores are a testament to the exceptional work of our teachers and students. Congratulations to all for these remarkable achievements! Below, you will find a chart comparing Highland’s scores to state averages for your reference.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our schools. Together, we are building a strong future for Highland students.
Warm regards,
Mindy Schultz
Superintendent, Highland School District
