Hello, everyone! Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Ms. Alvarez! I am so excited about being a 7th grade ELA teacher. This will be my 3rd year teaching. I have lived in Tieton my whole life. I graduated from Highland in 2015, so it is nice to be back here. I received my bachelors degree through Central Washington University where I majored in Business, which had an emphasis on leadership and management. Once I graduated from CWU in 2019, I began working at Garfield Elementary in Yakima as a paraprofessional. It was during this time that I decided I wanted to further my career and become a teacher. Wanting to become a teacher meant that I would have to go back to school, so during the pandemic, I decided it was a good idea to get my masters! I graduated with my Masters in Teaching through Heritage University. Like I mentioned before, I am excited to be working at Highland with teachers that taught me. My family was raised here, the community is awesome and it's a privilege to now be able to serve the students and families. I look forward to meeting all of you and building relationships with those around me. Go Scotts!
