I have been a teacher at MWC Elementary since 2003 and am currently teaching 2nd grade. I also have taught 1st grade and music/art. Previous to coming to Highland, I taught in the Yakima School District for a couple of years in both Kindergarten and as a Reading Specialist. I enjoy living in the Highland School District and my 4 children also attend(ed) school in the district. My hobbies include reading, hiking, snowmobiling, waterskiing and just being in the outdoors. Another enjoyment is cheering on Highland Scottie athletes at a variety of sports. My favorite sport is basketball and I enjoy watching all youth sports. I'm a huge advocate for reading and love the AR reading program. Helping a student learn to love to read is the most rewarding part of my job!
