GEAR UP is an acronym for Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergradute Programs.

GEAR UP is a program that serves a cohort group of students. For the school year 2004 - 2005, ALL 6th, 7th 8th, & 9th graders will be GEAR UP students. The grant provides many great opportunities that students may not otherwise have; field trips to institutions of higher learning, after school program with tutoring / mentoring, access to computers after school, games, snacks and transportation for students.
