It's that time of the year again when Ms. Hostetler and her troupe of "Drama" students are getting ready for their winter production. Please send all students going to the Library through the back entry. Please do not sit, stand or eat on the stage. The following students of Mr. Tate's still need to turn in their parent-acknowledgement slips for their midterm progress reports that were sent home last week. Ruby Escamilla, Isela Herrera, Chae Hudson, Riker Koempel, Joseline Velasquez. ETS seniors attending the Success Skills event at Heritage University on the 18th..........listen up! Students attending should be dressed appropriately for the event. Slacks, khakis, and skirts with appropriate length are fine. No tennis shoes or t-shirts!! Juniors interested in taking the CWU English classes next year: You must have either SAT or ACT scores by May registration! Deadline for the March 13th SAT test is February 10th. Sign up at collegeboard.com. See Mr. Stewart if you have any questions. There will be Saturday School this Saturday February 13th from 8:00 -11:00. Remember you MUST be on time or you will not be allowed in. FUNDRAISERS GOING ON: Cheer/Drill: Continue selling your "Smorgasbord" tickets. Mrs. St. George will begin collecting money on Wednesday (Feb., 10th) during lunch and afterschool only… do not get out of class to turn your money in. Annual Staff is selling 50/50 Raffle Tickets for $1.00 each at tonight's game. The winning ticket will be announced during half-time tonight. You need to be 18 years OR OLDER to purchase a ticket. All proceeds go to the production of the HHS Year Book. The Junior Class is selling Balloons for Valentine's Day during lunch. The last day to buy your balloons is Thursday with delivery on Friday during 6th period. A fun way to let that certain "Someone" know you care. Seniors have you sold your "Pancake Feed Tickets"? Mrs. Monroe will be in the Foyer by the office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday collecting money. Remember if you do not sell your tickets you MUST turn them back in. If you do not return them you will be CHARGED… COUNSELING CORNER: On Tuesday, February 16th, there will be a financial aid counselor here to help you with your FAFSA. Sign up for an appointment with Mrs. Amos in the counseling office. Washington Burglar & Fire Alarm Youth Scholarship This scholarship is for children of active duty fire and police personnel. Application available in the Counseling Center *Deadline for application is March 31, 2010 SPORTS: Basketball @ Highland vs. Naches 4:30/6:00/7:30 Girls "C" @ Highland vs. Zillah 7:00 Spring sports start Monday March 1, 2010. If you are planning on participating in Tennis, Track, Baseball, boys soccer or golf you can pick up paperwork from Mrs. Matzke in the office. Remember if you have not paid an ASB fee you cannot play a spring sport until you do!! Also, if you need to renew your physical plan ahead and get that done before practices start. District Wrestling Results: Forrest Kopta dominated the 140 pound class. He won by a pin in the semi-finals and a technical fall in the finals by a score of 15-0. Five other wrestlers will move on to the regional tournament. The results are as follows. 119- Oscar Morales placed 4th 125-Andres Tereza placed 5th 130- Carlos Alvarez placed 5th 135- Brandon Sommerville placed 3rd 140- Forrest Kopta Champion 285- Johnny Medina placed 5th Please come support the Scottie wrestlers at Regional's in Zillah this Saturday. Saturday, the junior varsity girls' basketball really played team basketball defeating Mabton 47 - 34. Scoring was lead by Caitlin Long with 12, Lisa Sorensen with 11 and Alyssa Wickenhagen with 10. Rebounding leaders were Karina Angel, Chae Hudson and Caitlin with 7 while Lisa collected 6. The girls have improved dramatically!
