Home of the Tartans! |
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL I would like to send out a great big THANK YOU to all our teachers, students, TIS Parent Association, and patrons for making the 1st Annual Harvest Festival Fundraiser held on November 14th a great family and community event. Without your support, this exciting event would have not occurred! We raised $4,847.80 that will be used to purchase items and activities for the school that we would not normally be able to buy. Even though we did not reach our goal, I will still own up to the bet that I made with the PTA. See if you can find the picture in the December newsletter to find out what the bet was!!!! TIS had their first parent involvement night of the year with a reading night on November 10th. Students sat with their parents and siblings reading books together while enjoying cocoa and cookies. At the end of the evening everyone had the opportunity to pick out a 'new' book to take home from the book swap. Our next parent involvement night will be focused on physical fitness as a family on January 12th from 6:30-7:30 pm. We encourage you to come join the fun and learn some new games with your children. I want to remind students and parents that the first third of the school year is over. All TIS students should be practicing their math facts and reading at home on a daily basis. This will help your child be successful at school! Sincerely, Greg George
