TIETON INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL

Greg George, Principal (509) 673-3141

Hello students, staff, parents and community members.  I want to introduce myself as the new principal at Tieton Intermediate School. Many of you know me as the High School Principal. My name is Greg George. Being a principal in the district the past seven years and having my kids attending school in Highland have given me a valued interest in this district and having it be successful as possible. I can not speak highly enough about the Highland community, staff, parents, and students. I have invested years of myself here thus Highland has become part of my family and me.  After some long thought over the summer, I feel it is in the best interest for the students, staff, and community members that I take the position as principal at Tieton Intermediate School. My time spent at HHS has been an extremely rewarding experience and I will truly miss the students and the daily interaction with Scottie Pride. I hope to instill some of that pride to younger "Scotties" at TIS. I am very excited to meet the challenges of a new building and the added benefit of being a TIS TARTAN  and  a SCOTTIE!

PARENTS WANTED!

Programs at TIS are designed with strong parent involvement. Why is parent involvement so important? Because your involvement helps your children succeed! Many studies show that the involvement of parents produce students who perform better than otherwise identical programs that do not involve parents as thoroughly, or that do not involve them at all. Children whose parents help them at home and stay in touch with the school score higher than children of similar aptitude and family background whose parents are not involved.

Schools where children are failing improve dramatically when parents are called in to help. Parents,

TIS NEEDS YOU!!!

Tieton Intermediate School currently has many opportunities and openings for volunteers to participate in such as helping with tutoring, student assessment, making copies, translating, scholastic book orders and book fair, the AR Store, field trips, reading, ice cream sales, and many others. To find out more about becoming a parent volunteer, contact Tieton Intermediate School office at 673-3141. Additionally, the TIS Parent Association needs your help and support as well. Please come to our Parent Association meetings on the first Monday of every month at 6:30.

Tieton Intermediate School values the support that parents and community members have shown throughout the years. We thank you for your support and will continue to improve upon our district goal of providing a quality education for all students. We express our appreciation to you, the parents of the students whom we serve. Thank you. It is a privilege to be entrusted with your most valuable possessions-your children
