Face Coverings
Wearing a face covering is difficult, especially for youngsters, but it is an important health5 Mask Tips-link precaution. Wearing a face covering plus washing your hands and maintaining physical distancing will help us to be able to return students to the classroom sooner. Properly wearing a mask is easy. Wash your hands before putting on the mask. Be sure it covers the nose and mouth and is secured under the chin. Make sure you can breathe easily and if breathing becomes hard, the mask should be easy to remove.  Masks should be worn by kids over age two.

OSPI Reopening Guidance Released

T
he much-anticipated guidelines for returning to school in the fall have been recently released by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). These recommendations were developed in close collaboration with the state Department of Health and Governor Inslee's office.

The Highland School District has thoroughly reviewed the guidelines and has worked with our leadership team to develop a reopening guide for our schools. We also have some unique components to consider for Yakima County.
We appreciate your patience as we navigate this process.
