Programs Offering Concurrent High School and College Credits for

Highland High School

 
Running Start Juniors and Seniors from Highland can participate in the Running Start Program at YVCC. Each student must first take and pass the ASSET Test. Call 574-4956 to set an appointment to take the ASSET Test. Visit their web site http://www.yvcc.edu/RunningStart/
Tech Prep A student who attends Yakima Valley Technical Skill Center and takes Firefighting, Auto Tech, Radio Broadcasting, or TV Video Production; earns a B in that course, may then qualify for Dual Credit. The student's transcript is sent to a Yakima Valley Community College representative, who then mails a letter to the student offering that student Dual Credit. The ONLY cost to begin this credit earning process is $15.00, payable to YVCC. The Skill Center's web site is: http://www.yvtech.us/.

Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate & College-in-the-High School Highland High School offers English courses from Central Washington University. To participate in this program, a student must have previously taken the SAT, gotten a score of 500 or above; or taken the ACT with a score of 19 or above. If a student is interested in earning English college credit while attending Highland High School, the student needs to talk with Mr. Stewart about this program.
